Next Wednesday is supposedly one of the biggest party nights of the year. With all the local shows going on tonight, we think this Wednesday is pretty happening too.
LEAGUES @ Vinyl
Also Appearing: Andrew Belle
Nashville’s LEAGUES aren’t sure how to explain how they, deep into their careers and different paths, were able to drop it all to make music they’d never quite played. “It had to happen now,” Jeremy says with a seriousness that quickly fades to laughter. “Not a second earlier.” If explaining how they got here is a long story, explaining what they make certainly isn’t: simply, songs rooted in joy. Seriousness that fades to laughter. LEAGUES is infectious. The ten tracks that make up You Belong Here encourage both dancing and introspection, and show a group of men leaving behind any preconceived notions and expectations but never their innate musicianship or love for songwriting. “They draw inspiration from iconic songs rather than artists. One listen to the swirling, rock-pop anthem “Mind Games,” the electric thump of “Magic” or the locomotive doo-wop of “Spotlight” and it’s clear that LEAGUES’ music demands attention in the best way. Just try and keep your toes from tapping.

The North Trolls as we know them started out in a house on Manigault Street in Reynoldstown, Atlanta back in 2006. Left-handed Drummer and Vocalist Gus Fernandez learned to play right-handed acoustic guitar upside-down and wrote some songs with guitarist Mike Morgan in their living room. Soon thereafter Fernandez recruited former bandmates (Fox Trotsky’s) Mason Turner and Charlie Mills to play bass and lead guitar respectively, to form the North Trolls Band.
