Youth Lagoon @ Terminal West
Trevor Powers, whose stage name is Youth Lagoon, began writing his debut album The Year of Hibernation in 2010. Based around the idea of psychological dysphoria, Powers tried to document the trailsof his mind through songs of minimalism and hypnotic ambiance. Powers later described his writing process as “my mind communicating with me, not the other way around…it can take me to scary places but I’ve realized those bizarre thoughts I have don’t define me.” After signing with Mississippi-based label Fat Possum Records in 2011, he toued much of the following year before going back into solitude to write. Powers recently released his sophomore album, Wondrous Bughouse, in March.

Founder, writer and drummer of Soulive for over 15 years, Alan Evans proudly presents his newest creation the Alan Evans Trio; an inspiring and fresh organ trio lineup. Enlisting the support of good friends and talented players Danny Mayer on guitar (On the Spot Trio), and Beau Sasser (Melvin Sparks, Akashic Record) the trio’s sound proves hard driving and groovin’ with dark funky rhythms and blues lick solos. Alan Evans Trio opens a window into another side – an emotional introspection, as dark as it is powerful. Their passionate progressions emanate an electrified, smoky, 70s-era CTI Records zeitgeist.
Hamell On Trial @ Smith’s Olde Bar: Atlanta Room
Ed Hamell picked up the guitar at age 7 and started writing songs not long after. In his early 20s, Mr. Hamell was the front man and writer for an original band, but local bands were a dime a dozen in the tough, working class neighborhoods in Syracuse, NY. So he launched a one-man act called “Hamell on Trial.” Mr. Hamell was invited to perform at the 2007 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, where The Terrorism of Everyday Life earned five-star reviews in the Metro, Edinburgh Review, and Three Weeks, and was awarded the Festival’s prestigious Herald Angel Award, the highest honor the Festival gives to the most outstanding performance each year.
Kevn Kinney and Friends @ Eddie’s Attic
Kevn Kinney is an American vocalist and guitarist, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the Southern rock band Drivin N Cryin. In 2012, he released an album with The Golden Palominos, a long standing musical collaborative project headed up by Anton Fier. Come by Eddie’s Attic tonight to hear some of his new music!
Migrant Worker @ The EARL
Since forming in early 2012, Migrant Worker has brought their mixture of American Roots Music to the greater Atlanta area. Blurring the lines between Country, Folk and Rock, Migrant Worker seeks to bring back the urgency and realness that was once so ever present in the musical landscape. Migrant Worker is a band which pays tribute to the past while looking forward.
Danny Brown @ The Masquerade
Danny is an unconventional hip hop artist employing multiple flows and cadences thus the moniker of “The Hybrid”. His style varies from low pitched gravely tones to a manic, high pitched, squawk. His lyrics, often dealing with the truth of living in Detroit; poverty, drug abuse, desperate circumstances, etc and his own experiences in the motor city, from selling drugs to underground parties in Detroit’s rave scene juxtaposing those topics with a humorous narrative told ferociously over avant guarde production choices.
