Hello there, Atlanta! What did y’all think of that CounterPoint lineup??? Need some live music to tide you over until April?
We’ve got you covered…
Fred Eaglesmith @ Eddie’s Attic
Acclaimed singer, songwriter and bandleader Fred Eaglesmith is a genuine iconoclast and true original. It’s the natural result of following the cue of his musical career and now 19 albums with the January 2012 release of 6 Volts. The result is one of the most fascinating and musically rewarding careers in contemporary music. His show at Eddie’s Attic tonight is sure to be similarly rewarding and fascinating.
Doors at 6:30pm. Tickets are $18 in advance. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.
Hip to Death @ The EARL
Also Appearing: Hotels, Lowbamks, Plague of Pilgrims
Hip to Death are a 3 piece out of Atlanta that plays their own breed of jagged, morphine-saturated post-punk. The hipsters (hippies? hippos?) have been heavily compared to the sounds of Suicide, J&MC and about a hundred other goth bands from the early 80’s….but more than anything these kids sound like Chrome and Chrome is awesome. HTD has a couple of albums out but one of the earliest demos was called “Live in a Dive.” Look at ’em sticking to their roots tonight at The EARL!
Doors at 8:30pm. Tickets are $5 in advance. Online and phone sales end at 6pm.
