What’s Up Wednesday?

I woke up in a really good mood this morning, regardless of the fact that my little pup, Penny-Pie, stayed up most of the night howling at the thunder…It’s going to be one of those days where I get a lot done, I just know it! I am in Nashville, and am stoked to see two ATL band, Modern Skirts and The District Attorneys tonight at The High Watt, so if you find yourself in Nashvegas, come hang!

-Some of Georgia’s favorite sons, The Allman Brothers, are at Chastain Amphitheater tonight for what will certainly be a packed show!

-For sixteen years the Pacific Northwest group Agalloch has defined what it means to combine influences from a variety of musical genres into one brooding, colossal, and cinematic sound that provides the soundtrack to existential themes concerning man, nature, loss, and death. It has been said that Agalloch is to heavy metal what Ingmar Bergman is to cinema. See them tonight at The Earl.

-Head over to the Drunken Unicorn to catch Bad Weather California w/ Broncho.

-According to our friends at Paste Magazine on singer/songwriter Adam Faucett: “Nothing can prepare you for the sound that comes out of his mouth when he sings—or bellows—his stellar songwriting. It is a soulful power beyond belief.” Catch him tonight at Eddie’s Attic.

-Going back to the Masquerade and their love for booking bands with the grossest of names, tonight you can catch: Cannibal Corpse, Between the Buried and Me, the Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Job for a Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed, Bury Me Breathing, Eyes of Torment, Harvester, Xeroderma, Come and Rest. Judging a book by its cover, I am imagining this music will not be classified as “easy listening.”
