Atlanta Music Guide is sad to hear of the unfortunate death of Chris Kelly, of the rap duo Kris Kross. Kelly (known as “Mac Daddy”), along with Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith, the backward-pants-wearing mini-rappers, rose to fame with their song “Jump” from their 1992 album, “Totally Krossed Out.” We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Atlanta-based rapper.
We have a great lineup of shows tonight in Atlanta! Let’s all remember Chris Kelly and show appreciation towards these talented, hard-working musicians!
Riverside @ Vinyl
Poland’s Progressive Rock shooting stars RIVERSIDE have undergone a highly interesting and purposeful progression throughout their musical career so far and should now manage to reach a next splendid height in terms of dynamic songwriting with their newest, highly anticipated fifth studio album release “Shrine Of New Generation Slaves”. The album offers a modern take on the band’s charismatic trademark elements, but also effectively adds further vibes of the Classic Rock segment as well as jazzy art-rock bits to the ever-challenging mix that RIVERSIDE has always stood for, maybe just less standard metallic and also less complex, without meaning less progressive.

Cherry Royale is dedicated to the same goal: to craft an experience through their music. “Funk is about the chemistry between not only the people playing the music, but the people listening as well,” points out Slappy. “Once you feel that chemistry, it’s absolutely undeniable. You can’t react against it.”

The LACS @ Brewhouse Music & Grill
The LACS which is the famous short abbreviation of the Loud Ass Crackers are from the sandy dirt roads of Baxley, Georgia. A South Georgia town more famous for its sawmills and turpentine stills than for having a successful southern rap group. The LACS consist of hip hop artist Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe and lead vocalist / guitarist Brian “ Rooster” King. The LACS latest album is still in the works but already has created a buzz with its contributions from Average Joe recording artist Colt Ford on the song “Shindig” and allowing the LACS the privilege of performing some of his tour dates.
The Black Keys w/ The Flaming Lips @ Lakewood Amphitheater
The Black Keys is an American rock band formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001. The group consists of Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). Originally friends from their childhood, Auerbach and Carney founded the group after dropping out of college. They began as an independent act, known for their lo-fi, self-produced albums recorded in basements, as well as their raw blues rock sound. The group’s commercial breakthrough came in 2010 with Brothers, which along with its popular single “Tighten Up”, won three Grammy Awards. Their 2011 follow-up El Camino received strong reviews and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, leading to the first arena concert tour of the band’s career, the El Camino Tour. The album and its hit single “Lonely Boy” won three Grammy Awards.
