Is it really August already? Where has this year gone? We’ve been enjoying all of the Atlanta music festivities so much that the time has just flown by! Check out the lineup tonight and enjoy yet another awesome show!
Jackson County Line @ Eddie’s Attic (7:30pm)
According to Paste Magazine, Jackson County Line “camps out at the mellow end of the alt.country spectrum”. Unique instrumentation featuring acoustic and electric guitars, cello, pedal steel, bass and drums affords this five piece the flexibility to bring a wall or a whisper to the stage. Songs about the beauty and melancholy of life in the South will remind you why you love living here, or make you wish that you did.
Shawn Mullins @ Brewhouse Music & Grill
Local musician Shawn Mullins’ musical accomplishments include a dozen self-produced records, three number one charting songs (“Lullaby”, “Beautiful Wreck” and Zac Brown’s “Toes”), a Grammy nomination and thousands of live performances. One of his favorite accomplishments was the decision of the Australian Olympic Team to use his song Shimmer as their anthem.
Iron Whip @ The Earl
Iron Whip is a rock band based out of Atlanta. The Dirty Magazines, Aramazilla and Johnny Rebs will be sharing the stage with Iron Whip tonight! Come out and support this local band!
Johnny Awesome @ Smith’s Olde Bar
Johnny Awesome is a new, refreshing rock band with their souls set on “making it” in music. They have been a group since Autumn of 2007 and have been working hard at creating music that satisfies not just the ears, but the soul. From house shows to various venues in the city of Atlanta, they have been preparing for their dream of becoming a successful performing band.
The Howlin’ Brothers @ Eddie’s Attic (10:30pm)
Enjoy a hand-clapping, foot-stomping late-night show at Eddie’s with The Howlin’ Brothers! Check out our exclusive interview with the trio!
Vincent the Dog @ Vinyl
Vincent the Dog is a free-form rock power trio from the Atlanta/Athens area informed by a wide range of influences, including psychedelic and progressive rock, blues, metal, jazz, funk, and even a bit of pop. With an undeniably old school aesthetic, the band — comprising bassist/lead vocalist John Barrett, guitarist Taylor Bleke, and drummer Logan Tuura — is unafraid to stretch out in its songs, which are often lengthy and filled with unusual riffs and structures.
Ludacris @ The Tabernacle
Recording artist, actor, philanthropist, restaurateur…just a few of the befitting titles for Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, who first gained worldwide acclaim more than 10 years ago with his debut album, Back for the First Time (2000). Ever since, his unrivaled lyrical prowess, dynamic performances and timeless hits including “Stand Up,” “Get Back,”, “Number One Spot,” “Money Maker,” and “My Chick Bad,” have solidified him as one of music’s best entertainers and led to the sale of more than 20 million albums domestically.
