What’s Up Thursday?

Thursday, thursday, thursday! Aren’t you glad? Yeah, me too. Some fun shows tonight, you definitely should check them out…

-Are you a fan of The Hold Steady, cause I certainly am. They are indie and awesome, and they are playing The Earl tonight! This show is currently sold out.

COPE was recently dubbed the “Undisputed Jam Kings of Tampa Bay.” See them tonight at Peachtree Tavern.

-Since 2005, the name No Justice has become a familiar fixture on Texas radio, charting ten Top 10 singles and a pair of No. 1s in only a six-year span. Check out these vintage rockers tonight at Smith’s Olde Bar.

-The writer of “Jesse”, a song recorded by so many others that few remember Janis Ian wrote it; “Stars”, possibly the best song ever written about the life of a performer, recorded by artists as diverse as Mel Torme and Cher; and the seminal “At Seventeen”, a song that brought her five Grammy nominations (the most any solo female artist had ever garnered) in 1975, and which is now reaching its third generation of listeners. She is legendary and is at Eddie’s Attic tonight.

-Nashville’s own, The Kingston Springs, are bringing their scrappy, bluesy, young Black Keys sound, tonight at The Basement at Graveyard Tavern.

-Gotta give props to our friends at the Star Bar who are handing us a free show with some noted acts: The Fleshtones, Andrew & the Disapyramids, the Myopic I, Ghost Bikini, Absolutely Not, Fringe Factory.
