Scotland's Glasvegas makes its US television debut on Late Show with David Letterman on January 5th and will then perform on Craig Ferguson's show on January 14th. Dubbed "The Best New Band in Britain" by the NME, Glasvegas is also playing dates in seven US cities this month (though Atlanta is not one of them) promoting its breakthrough, self-titled album……..Now is the time when AthFest begins accepting submissions for bands to be considered for inclusion in the annual festival taking place in Athens, Georgia at the end of June, 2009. Deadline is January 30th………..The Wailers will appear at The Masquerade on January 29th as part of the group's Exodus tour, named after the classic Bob Marley & The Wailers album that will be played in its glorious entirety, including the hits "Jammin'" and "Waiting in Vain" …………Connor Christian & Southern Gothic will play at Smith's Olde Bar on January 18th. 90 Proof Lullabies is the name of the forthcoming album…….In case you haven't heard, The Pogues are coming to The Tabernacle on March 9th. Attendance recommended, especially considering Shane is still alive and kicking……Joshua Radin rolls up to the Georgia Theatre in Athens on January 30th in support of Simple Times. The album has earned Radin a spot in iTunes' "Indie Spotlight: Singer Songwriter – Best of 2008" feature and has already sold over 50,000 copies since its release four months ago. More tour dates will be announced soon…....Speaking of iTunes, The Pretenders have become part of the "Originals" series, containing exclusive new recordings of songs that trace the band's lengthy career……
