It will be The Rolling Stones’ first trip to Atlanta since 2005 when they played at Philips Arena and their second trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium. The Stones’ 1989 concert was the first held in the newly renamed Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. It will be the 10th concert held at Bobby Dodd Stadium and the first since Pink Floyd played two dates in 1994.
“It is an amazing opportunity for Georgia Tech Athletics to host one of the world’s truly iconic bands in one of the nation’s best college stadiums,” Georgia Tech AD Mike Bobinski said. “Bobby Dodd Stadium will be a great venue for The Rolling Stones and their fans, and we look forward to hosting more special events in the years ahead.”
The stage design for the stadium shows includes a thrust that extends deep into the audience allowing the Stones to interact directly with their fans. Known for their ground-breaking sets and use of cutting-edge technology, the Stones’ set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones’ show.
