I admit that I was a little concerned Monday morning when dark clouds were covering the Atlanta sky, but the music gods must’ve known Sting would be playing Chastain Amphitheater that night. The nearly sold out crowd was a mixture of young and old, tattooed and preppy and I even saw more than my fair share “hair club for men” candidates. They all had one thing in common; they were here to see former Police front man Sting perform material from his vast catalog.
He played a good mix of old Police favorites, his well-known solo material, as well as his lesser known works. He would pause at appropriate times to interact with the crowd and even stopped once to give a shout out to the Fox Theatre where he played his first Atlanta gig in 1979.
