The rock group formed in 2007 in North Wales by vocalist/guitarist Ritzy Bryan, bassist Rhydian Dafydd and original drummer Justin Stahley, who was soon replaced by Matt Thomas. Since their formation the rock trio has been building buzz, first in Europe at British music festivals then hopping across the pond to pursue fame stateside. Their first eight-song, mini-album was released in 2009 and called A Balloon Called Moaning. The tunes on EP were impressive enough to earn the threesome spots on tour with the Editors and Passion Pit. After touring throughout 2010, the group began 2011 with the international release of their first full-length album titled The Big Roar. After another year of touring with Muse and writing, the group release Wolf’s Law in 2013. This year marks another successful year of touring for the group and on Saturday, May 17th, The Joy Formidable will make a stop in Atlanta to play Party in The Park at Centennial Olympic Park.
