and more Film news. Film will debut five new songs and their new lead singer Saturday August 11th at Earthlink Live. The band have been hard at work writing since they parted ways with the afformentioned Mike Lee in March. The band decided to leave the older material alone, and return to their more orginal direction influenced by bands like the Stone Roses and The Beatles. The new songs include "Take It All Away" and "We've Only Today". The band will then return to the studio to finish the new record expected early fall.
Michael Lee Film's old lead singer played a set to a relatively empty Smiths Olde Bar last Friday during The Atlantis Music Conference. Michael played covers of 3 Film songs "Q" , "Get Away" and "Coming down" as well as The Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil". The Aussie apparently quit Film after Maverick put a deal on the table, citing his lack of belief in the band and songs. We have learned he has since been shopping himself with the help of Tim Obrien (manager of Stroke9), using the songs written in Film, that he 'doesnt believe in'. Amusingly, he can still be found singing at CJ's Landing in Buckhead three nights a week singing covers with his 'writing' partner Hank in the group, 'Hank and Mike' ..
