This past Tuesday, February 5, may have started out as a quiet night at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta, but it sure ended with a big bang. The Wild Feathers may not be a household name today, but there is no doubt in my mind that they will soon receive world-wide recognition. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Taylor Burns, Joel King, Ricky Young and Preston Wimberly, of band the The Wild Feathers, brought undeniable energy and enthusiasm to the stage as they performed for the second time in the past two weeks at this popular Atlanta bar.
The multi-talented group of singers/songwriters introduced their country-infused, rock-n-roll music to a fun-spirited crowd on Tuesday night. With the combination of four guitars and heavy drums, songs such as “Backwoods Company” are sure to get the men of the audience buying these guys Maker’s Mark shots. On the other hand, the group’s effortless harmonizing in songs like “The Ceiling” and “Hard Times” continue to keep the ladies hollering. One thing is for sure, this southern-rooted band knows how to grab the attention of the audience and hold on to it.
With their self-titled debut album set to be released this spring, The Wild Feathers have been doing southern residency shows for the past few weeks. The band will return to Smith’s Olde Bar next Tuesday, February 12, and again on Wednesday, March 6. Between their sweet, southern sound and their rock-n-roll stage presence, this is a show you won’t want to miss!
