Live Review & Picture Book: Cole Swindell @ Peachtree Tavern, 4/5

Cole SwindellSmall town country boy, Cole Swindell left Bronwood, Georgia with a lot of inspiration and just enough experience to begin his career while he attended Georgia Southern University.

While at Georgia Southern, Cole met fellow Sigma Chi fraternity brother, Luke Bryan, and sparked a remarkable musical relationship. The two played shows together at local bars and venues around Georgia before Cole moved to Nashville in 2007 to pursue his dream.

Not long after being on Music Row, Luke hired him and he spent the next three years on the road doing merchandise at shows and writing songs while he traveled the country on a tour bus. Luke Bryan’s Spring Break EPs: “Hangover Edition“, “It’s A Shore Thing“, and “Sun Tan City” include five cuts by Cole: “I’m Hungover”, “In Love with the Girl”, “Love in a College Town“, “Shore Thing”, and “Shake The Sand”.

In 2010, Sony/ATV Music Publishing offered Cole a publishing deal.

Last year, he wrote “Water Tower Town” for American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery.

Cole’s Friday night show at Peachtree Tavern with Brandon Stiles and the Daniel Johnson Band brought out quite a crowd. A group of fans traveled all the way from Ohio to see him perform. His setlist included original songs, “Night With Your Name on It” and “Lemme See Ya Girl,” as well as some popular country covers. Every person in Peachtree Tavern sang along during Cole’s covers of “Something Like That” by Tim McGraw and “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line.
