When did you start playing the trombone and what or who inspired you to start playing?
I started playing the trombone in Middle School (Marching Band)…it was the New Orleans’ legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band that exposed me to jazz and a whole new world of music opened up for me.
What has been your most memorable gig to date?
Jamming with P-Funk at Voodoo Music Experience in NOLA.
What is your dream gig?
Prince with P-Funk in a beautiful outdoor setting with people dancing and having a good time as far as the eye can see.
How do you connect with your audience?
Music and movement – both are universal languages – and at our shows you get plenty of both.

Prince / P-Funk / James Brown / Living Colour / Wycliffe Gordon

What are your plans for the remainder of 2013?
Big Sam’s Funky Nation will be doing lots of touring all over and will release a new CD – and of course to have a phenomenal time doing it…
