I cannot tell you how many musicians I have talked to who are just itching to get placed in a commercial, movie, or video game, but don’t know where to begin or get their foot in the door. Well luckily for Georgia, we have one of the biggest gaming industries in the world, and the good folks over at Thrust Interactive (based in Atlanta) are giving their own some love. Yesterday they announced a music contest to find the theme for an upcoming level of the music-based mobile shooter game, Boomblastica. The submission deadline is Feb. 6, and the winner will be announced Feb. 17, 2012. For contest submission and requirements visit:
Boomblastica is a fast-paced retro shooter game with a fun Japanese pop art sensibility, a rhythmic pace and unique sound design. Every action creates instrumental sound effects, which layer together to form new music soundtracks. As players complete difficulty levels, they’ll battle their way through increasingly challenging dream states to save our sleeping heroine.
