Sad news in the world of indie record stores. Right after our announcement of Trail of Dead's support of Record Store Day we got news that one of our ticket outlets and favorite music stores Ella Guru will be closing its doors for the last time in a short while.
Owner Don Radcliffe told us that themixture of time constraints and the down-turned economy has lead him to this choice. But he also told us that the news comes with a mixture of the bittersweet, as the store is having a sale of ridiculous proportions with CDs at $2 to $4. Priced to move indeed. So please, do visit Don at Ella Guru (280 Elizabeth Street, Suite B101) and buy as much as you possibly can before the store closes.
For those Ella Guru fans wondering where they can still get their fix, be assured that Don will keep www.ellaguru.com going and plans to be at a fair share of record shows in the future too.
UPDATE: We've been told Don is aiming to close the store on March 6, though this may change depending on sales.
