The East Atlanta Icehouse, occupying the former Echolounge location opened last night. In the 1920’s the venue was an ice storage house. With 12 inch thick brick walls, the Icehouse is the perfect spot for a live venue. A new, state-of-the-art sound system has been installed along with a new lighting system and hardwood floors. In the old lounge area the new renovations have not only introduced a fully functioning kitchen but a patio addition as well. The restaurant and patio portion, an Irish themed pub, will be open every day from 11:00am to 3:00am.

Wow – they must have one hell of a booking agent. Is there a single band in that list that is going to bring out a large crowd? I’m reasonably up on the music scene but I’m scratching my head on this one. Where are the top local bands to bring out the local crowd? Which one of those bands is a regional headliner that would realistically sell out? Pretty underwhelming, considering the history of that space.
