Soul singer, songwriter and guitarist David Ryan Harris may be best recognized for playing guitar and singing in John Mayer’s band from 2004 to 2012. He’s returning to Atlanta Oct. 25 for a “bare bones” show at Eddie’s Attic in support of his newest album.
His fourth full-length album, Lightyears, is a soulful 11-track look into his life as an artist, Harris said.
“Lightyears is me sending up a flare into the darkness from where I live,” Harris said. “My past and how it informs my present. My sense of hope, my sense of humor.”
He described the album as “flying without a net” in its representation and interpretation of all the music he’s written over the years.
Eddie’s Attic is located at 515-B N McDonough Street in Decatur.
Doors 8 p.m. and show begins at 8:30 p.m.
