On Saturday, May 7, Criminal Records will celebrate the 10th annual Free Comic Book Day. As the name implies, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books free to anyone who comes into their shops. Criminal Records will be celebrating the art and culture of comic books all day long with artist/writer signings, panel discussions/interviews, and a live performance by renowned nerdcore rapper, Adam WarRock. There will also be a special sales on toys, T-shirts, graphic novels, and other items in the Comics Department, in addition a scavenger hunt and other games throughout the day.
Adam WarRock is now widely known as the internet’s foremost comic book nerdcore rapper. First gaining widespread attention for his debut single, “Ira Glass,” Adam WarRock went on to release his debut album, The War For Infinity, in the fall of 2010. In its debut week, the album reached the #3 best-selling album on Bandcamp.com, as well as a featured spot on the iTunes’ hip hop and rap genre frontpage.
And don’t forget! Friday, May 6, Steve Ignorant of Crass will be visiting Criminal! Find out more information HERE.
