Over the past 24 years, Warped Tour has become a summer staple for people all across the United States, and even across the world. 2018 marks the end of Warped Tour as, well, a tour, and is the final year that 70+ bands in the hardcore and alternative scenes will collectively traverse the US for a sweaty, sunny summer.
2013 was my first year attending Warped, and I’ve gone to at least one date of the tour every year since. The event has often been the pinnacle of my summer – something to look forward to in the middle of doing nothing. It’s always just fun to catch the set of a band I’ve been waiting to see for a while, or even a band I’ve never heard of while I’m roaming the festival. Although Warped as I know it is coming to an end, I can’t wait to see what Kevin Lyman’s next steps are for keeping the legacy of Warped alive.
