One of the oldest and most beautiful venues in Atlanta, The Fox Theatre is one of our favorite places to see a show (or a movie, or play, or anything really). With its starry sky ceiling and beautifully ornamented walls, it’s a magical place that also happens to have fantastic acoustics.
Whether you’re getting ready to see an amazing concert or a hilarious play, we’re here to help you plan the ultimate night out at The Fox Theatre.
Inside The Venue (Tips & Tricks)
- Dress Code, Dress Shmode
- Contrary to popular belief, there is actually no specific dress code for events at The Fox.
- Some events, like an opening night for a play or musical, will draw a dressier crowd as most people do enjoy dressing up to go to the theatre.
- You’ll see everything from casual for a concert or a movie to Sunday best of formal wear for theatrical performances.
- Get Nuts
- Y’all. Trust me when we say that the sugared nuts they sell at concessions are truly life-changing. You can choose from almonds, cashews, and pecans, but we give extra props to the pecans.
- There are other great concessions available within The Fox including a full service bar that offers cocktails, imported and domestic draft beer, wine, soft drinks, bottled water, popcorn, chips, pretzels, candy, and hot dogs in addition to the nuts (but get the nuts).
- Be warned: concession lines can get fairly long, especially during concerts.
- Arrive Early
- Due to The Fox being a reserved seating venue, it’s always a good idea to arrive before the show begins to ensure you’ll get to your seat without any delay during the performance.
- This is especially true of musicals and plays, as you may be held out or reseated until an appropriate time for you to get to your assigned seat.
- Concerts are a little more laid back, of course, but why would you want to miss any of the show?!
