Amplify Decatur: Concerts Combating Poverty

Did you know that families make up 40% of the homeless in DeKalb county? Sadly, it’s true. That’s why its the mission of Amplify concerts to leverage the universal love of music to raise money and awareness for excellent charities fighting poverty at the local level.

Amplify concerts strive to end homelessness and poverty by drawing attention to the issues and celebrating organizations that fight for these causes on a daily basis. Poverty is Real, a 501(c)(3), is the organizer of the concert. They are an independently funded organization that acquires their funding through donations separate from the concerts. Poverty is Real selects the artists, picks the venue, hosts the party and then donates all of the proceeds to a local charity. Amplify Decatur will benefit and celebrate the efforts of Decatur Cooperative Ministry . Visit the Decatur Cooperate Ministry website to learn more about their many programs that are fighting to end homelessness.

Amplify will be hosting concerts at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur starting Friday, June 20th through Sunday, June 22nd.
