So for those of you who have survived the end of the world and survived the end of your Christmas shopping, we have put together the best concerts going on this weekend for you to reward yourself with! Stay warm for the weekend. Here are your AMG weekend picks:
Friday, December 21st-Marah at Smiths Olde Bar
These rockers were forced to leave their home in New York City to pursue music. They like to consider themselves the last rock ‘n’ roll band out there. And with their energetic live performances, the intimate setting at Smiths is the perfect place to see Marah as they head down south!
Friday, December 21st-Xmas w/ Ryan Horne, Micah Dalton, Nathan Angelo, & Jonathan Rich at Eddie’s Attic
With two times to see these guys for their Christmas show, there is no excuse for missing them tonight at Eddie’s Attic. Ryan Horne released an EP of Christmas music titled, Silent Night, and all of these acoustic goodies will be the perfect way to kick off your last weekend before Christmas.
Friday, December 21st-The Revels with Death on Two Wheels at Vinyl
The Revels take it back to the basics and the roots of rock, complete with the raspy vocals and an organ. Joining them will be Death on Two Wheels, Atlanta natives, who work frequently with Manchester Orchestra.
Friday, December 21st-All the Saints with special guests at The EARL
Psychedelic but still refined and tuneful is what makes up All the Saints. Don’t miss them at The EARL tonight!
Friday, December 21st-Jupiter Coyote at Peachtree Tavern
You don’t play 4,000 shows without knowing what you are doing. You don’t have a 23 year background for nothing. That is Jupiter Coyote. They are total veterans of the music scene and won’t leave without giving an unimpressive show. They have played with The Allman Brothers Band, Dave Matthews, Widespread Panic, String Cheese, The Radiators and Kansas, and played at countless festivals. Peachtree Tavern may not be a festival setting, but it will be an intimate night with Jupiter Coyote.
Friday, December 21st-THE END IS NOW: Atlanta’s Apocalyptic Celebration
This event gets you into both floors: The Basement and Graveyard Tavern. In the latter will be four DJs, and in The Basement will be Wizard Smoke, Lazer/Wulf, and Degradations. For anyone who is 21 and over, head to Graveyard Tavern for your Friday plans.
Saturday, December 22nd-Randall Bramblett at Eddie’s Attic
He is a music industry veteran, and even though he took some time away from touring, Bramblett is back and going to be taking the stage at Eddie’s Attic. All the way back to the 70s, he has released six albums, and will be one to see for sure.
Saturday, December 22nd-Mama’s Love with Cope at Peachtree Tavern
Mama’s Love is a rock band out of Athens, Georgia who may still be new to the music scene, but have been turning heads since their inception in 2007. They bring together classic rock, funk, and Americana for a sound so wonderfully American. Don’t miss them with Cope tonight at Peachtree Tavern.
Saturday, December 22nd-Know Your Rights Band at The EARL
Still have love in your heart for Joe Strummer and The Clash? Know Your Rights Band at the EARL is where you need to be! They will be bringing in all of your favorite Clash songs all night. Don’t miss this throwback to all your favorite tracks growing up.
Saturday, December 22nd-MUTEMATH playing for Winter Wonder Jam at Atlantic Station
This is the last weekend of Winter Wonder Jam, and we are closing it out with none other than MUTEMATH. The alternative rockers from New Orleans are bringing in all the rock music and electronic mixes that their fans have come to love.
