Friday, October 18 – An Evening with HLN’s Robin Meade and Victoria Shaw @ Eddie’s Attic
Robin Meade is an HLN anchor, New York Times Best Selling Author, and country singer/songwriter/recording artist. She just released her second album and is heading out on tour!

Friday, October 18 – Escondido with special guests @ The Earl
Escondido is Nashville, TN based artists Jessica Maros and Tyler James. Recorded live in a single day, their 10-song debut album was released Feb. 26, 2013. Their sound is a washed out desert landscape steeped in American roots music.

Friday, October 18 – Jason Boland & The Stragglers with Jason Eady @ Brewhouse Music & Grill
It’s admirable when a musician gets back to his roots, there’s no questioning that. But in a lot of ways, it’s even more admirable when an artist has no need to do that – having never lost touch with those roots in the first place. Jason Boland falls squarely into the latter category, having spent the better part of the last 15 years entrenching himself in the so-called “red dirt” of his native state of Oklahoma and adopted home in Texas and while spreading his musical branches to cover a remarkable amount of territory.

Friday, October 18 – Larkin Poe @ Eddie’s Attic
When you attend a Larkin Poe concert, it is impossible not to see and hear that these sisters have soul and musical prowess well beyond their years. At 22 and 24 respectively, Rebecca & Megan Lovell are charismatic performers, experienced songwriters, and accomplished musicians. Featuring tight vocal harmonies and dizzying instrumental riffs, the music of Larkin Poe ranges from Folk-Rock to Acoustic R&B, from grooving Jam Band to delicate singer-songwriter – Larkin Poe is versatile, entertaining, and totally authentic in all that they do.

Friday, October 18 – Sean McConnell @ Smith’s Olde Bar
Sean travels the states performing his own style of music that he describes as “Lyric Driven Roots Rock with Soul.” A live Sean McConnell show is truly a dynamic experience. One moment reckless rock, and the next an intimate acoustic pin drop moment. While most of his performances these days are backed by his four piece band, you can sometimes find him by himself on a stool with a guitar getting back to the basics.

Friday, October 18 – Ben Rector @ The Tabernacle

Saturday, October 19 – Chick Singer Night @ Hard Rock Cafe’s Velvet Underground
The night of the show, a variety of talented singers will perform in a showcase with the stellar house band, featuring: Michael Milsap, Sean O’Keeffe, Thomas Branch and Justin Cain. The event is also a benefit for Hard Rock Atlanta’s Pinktober charity partner, It’s The Journey and the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

Saturday, October 19 – Comrade Blue @ Smith’s Olde Bar
Atlanta’s Comrade Blue was formed when several neighbors and friends converged in a basement to jam. Already being friends or “comrades,” the band that formed was aptly named Comrade Blue. Through other friends and family, the band quickly took off and started playing Atlanta charity events as well as local venues like SweetWater Brewery, The Red Light Café, Red Brick Brewery, and Smith’s Olde Bar.

Saturday, October 19 – Guitar Wolf with The Coathangers @ The Drunken Unicorn
Guitar Wolf is a Japanese garage rock power trio founded in Nagasaki in 1987. The band is known for songs with piercing vocals and an extremely loud style of noise-influenced punk which emphasizes heavy distortion and feedback. Read our interview with Guitar Wolf here!

Saturday, October 19 – Mike Willis @ Eddie’s Attic
Decatur native and Attic regular, Mike Willis, joins forces with fellow Atlanta-Nashville transplants, Connor Rand and Clay Evans, and recent Shootout finalist, Noah Collins, for a special evening of music. Nothing resembling a traditional Nashville-style writer’s round, this high-energy show will also feature some of the finest backing musicians in the US; blending styles of pop, country, gospel and soul. This year, Old School Saturday enters its tenth year as an Atlanta institution. Celebrating the music of the ’80s and ’90s, Old School Saturday events attract over 2,500 “old school” devotees each month to its ever-changing, always swanky locations.

Saturday, October 19 – Todd Carey with David Disharoon @ Smith’s Olde Bar
This Chicago born, guitar slinging songwriter hit the top forty iTunes charts with his 2010 EP release “After the Morning After”. “Todd Carey not only attracts your attention, he holds it…Carey’s music is filled with class, style and the occasional electric guitar that strokes the listeners’ curiosity level making it an easy decision to want to hear more.”

With the ability to sing and play a large variety of instruments it’s obvious that music comes naturally to Flux Pavilion aka Joshua Steele. Since first sitting down at a keyboard at the age of six his dream has been to make music that he loves, and perform it to people who love it just as much.
Saturday, October 19 – Finch @ Buckhead Theatre
Finch is an American post-hardcore band from Temecula, California. The band released an EP Falling Into Place and two full-length albums, What It Is to Burn and Say Hello to Sunshine before declaring a hiatus in 2006. Finch reformed in 2007, playing a reunion show on November 23 at the Glasshouse in Pomona, California. They released a self-titled EP a year later, and were in the process of writing their third studio album when they disbanded in late 2010. In October 2012 Finch announced they will be doing What It Is to Burn anniversary shows. The lineup for the shows will feature all original band members, except Daniel Wonacott will be playing bass.

Sunday, October 20 – Grupo Fantasma with Heavy Chevy @ The Earl
Grupo Fantasma has been praised as one of the most important independent acts in the Latin genre and has continually defied expectations to create one of the most unique musical voices to come out of the United States in the last decade. Read our interview with Grupo Fantasma here!

Sunday, October 20 – Poor Old Shine with Lily and the Tigers @ Eddie’s Attic
From their hand-painted CD cases wrought from cereal boxes to their thoughtful arrangements, Poor Old Shine, an Alt Americana band from rural Connecticut, is about honesty and handcrafted creativity. They travel with an assortment of instruments including guitars, banjos, pump organ, mandolin, string bass, musical saw, washboard, and a yard-sale-scrap-metal drum set. It’s old songs with a new feel, banjos with paint peeled, shoes with holes and treadless soles, and music that is real.

Sunday, October 20 – Switchfoot @ Center Stage
With its play on words, Vice Verses, the title of Switchfoot’s new album, coherently suggests the album’s theme: everything has two sides. “Every blessing comes with a set of curses,” singer-guitarist Jon Foreman sings on the title track, all the while wondering if “there’s a meaning to it all.” That theme runs through the album’s 12 songs and is even reflected in the album’s black and tan cover.
