Friday, March 29th-The Apache Relay at Vinyl
The Apache Relay has taken traditional roots music and struck it with an indie streak. The band seamlessly combines acoustic sounds and styles with heavier rock songs.
Friday, March 29th-BMI Presents: Girls Night Out! at Eddies Attic
BMI is putting on a night for the ladies, which includes artists Bonnie Bishop, Nik & Sam, and The Baron Sisters. These lovely ladies will be filling the night with blues, Americana, folk, and more. BMI, formed by radio executives, and has a similar philosophy to that of Eddie’s Attic: to welcome in songwriters.
Friday, March 29th-Cloudeater with RBTS Win at The EARL
A relatively new face within the Atlanta music scene, Cloudeater has been creating a diverse, eclectic, organic style of music. The quintet hits listeners with a mix of sounds, inspired by live rock music. They list The Flaming Lips and Nine Inch Nails among their influences, and have worked at creating a distinct style of live rock with electronic music.
Friday, March 29th-Alicia Keys at Philips Arena
Last year brought on a lot of new things for the jazzy R&B singer. A new album, a new child, and newly chopped locks brought in a lot for her. Trust me, this is one performance you will not want to miss!
Friday, March 29th-Dangermuffin at Smiths Olde Bar
The roots, Americana band has been touring the nation from venues, to bars, to massive festivals, but even with all that under their belt, they are still drastically changing their sound and style. Dangermuffin sings about complicated lives, something everyone can relate to. Check out the South Carolina natives for yourself.
Friday, March 29th-The Soul Rebels at The Loft
Stepping straight out of the jazz scene in New Orleans, The Soul Rebels are no joke. Several of the members played in the famous Dejean’s Young Olympia Brass Band, and they took the traditional jazz music they loved, and meshed it with the contemporary and modern music they wanted to play.
Saturday, March 30th-Big Jesus with Manray, The Dirty Magazines at The EARL
Big Jesus is made up of friends dedicated to playing and making music with heavy riffs and smooth melodies. Joining them at The EARL is Manray and The Dirty Magazines.
Saturday, March 30th-Liquid CD Release at Smiths Olde Bar
Power pop a thing of the past? I don’t think so. Liquid, a power pop rock band are brining the genre back, not to mention their performance at Smiths Olde Bar will be paired with their CD release. New music, new album, and new tunes will be the theme of the night. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Saturday, March 30th-Dr. John & The Nite Trippers at Variety Playhouse
Six Grammys, over 40 years of experience, and countless New Orleans and Mardi Gras performances make Dr. John & The Nite Trippers one of the most experienced musicians coming to town. If he can wow Mardi Gras audiences, he can surely do the same in Atlanta.
Saturday, March 30th-Michelle Malone at Eddie’s Attic
In short, she is the heart of blues and soul. Malone, an Atlanta native, has laid it all out for her listeners and her tracks are full of experiences and emotions that will take audiences from highs to lows throughout the night as they follow the narrative of her music.
Sunday, March 31st-Jeff Brinkman with Riley Biederer at Eddie’s Attic
From songwriter, to indie artist, Jeff Brinkman has traveled where his music needs to take him. His music is based in acoustic ballads and last spring her released his second EP. Does he sound like Ray LaMontagne? Go check him out for yourself.
Sunday, March 31st-Sugar Glyder at The Masquerade
Right out of South Carolina, Sugar Glyder, has an indie sound similar to Neon Trees. Grab your skinny jeans, and your now cool glasses and head to The Masquerade.
