Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker of San Francisco-based wünderkind Mikey Maramag. His unique style of dreamy folktronica recalls influences from all ends of the musical spectrum; deeply textured, hypnotic songs pay homage to psychedelic pop the likes of Caribou and Washed Out, while the warmth of analogue instrumentation spliced with digital artifacts hints at contemporaries James Blake, Four Tet and Mount Kimbie.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of show. Doors open at 9pm. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 6pm on the day of the show.

Scott Miller @ Eddie’s Attic

What does the term “big big world” mean for artist Scott Miller? For starters, you could assume that the epicenter of that “big big world” is the two-hundred acrecattle farm Miller grew up on and now works in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. And the gifted songwriter/performer’s “big big world” recently stretched to include the aforementioned writing space in Knoxville, as well as the city block between the Nashville apartment of friend Patty Griffin to producer Doug Lancio’s Studio G! in East Nashville, where most of the work for Miller’s new project was done.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Table seats are $18.75 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Doors open at 8pm. Online and phone sales close at 5:00 pm.

Little Tybee + New Madrid @ 529

Little Tybee is something of a mini orchestra with its ever-evolving five to ten members all engaged in intricate musicianship. Their name comes from a tiny island off the coast of their native Georgia, where, legend has it an undetonated atomic bomb from the 1950s lies missing. They jokingly attribute the quirkiness of their debut album Building a Bomb to the long-term effects of eating radiation-drenched seafood, but it’s more likely they were just born that way. Their compositions transcend genres and pack a much bigger sound than their title implies. They create not only music; but inspiration, motivation, and a celebration of the world around them. Now wrapping up their second album!

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 on the day of the show. Doors open at 9pm. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 6pm on the day of the show.
