I don’t know about you, but I still am not used to the new year. I’ve written December 2012 on one too many occasions, but hey it’s time to embrace 2013. Friday, January 11th-Gringo Star w/ Mood Rings & Baby Baby at The EARL
You have to hand it to these Atlanta natives. Gringo Star is one of the best band names I have heard in a while. The indie rockers came out with a new album this past December. Make sure you don’t miss them at The EARL this weekend with Mood Rings & Baby Baby.
Friday, January 11th & Saturday, January 12th-Rebirth Brass Band at Smiths Olde Bar
Pulled straight out of New Orleans, Rebirth Brass Band brings brass music back to its origins. Not only that, they create an even better sound by fusing funk and other modern music trends into the tradtional brass band sound. With two days to see these guys there is no reason not to pack your weekend full.
Friday, January 11th- Kristy Lee at Eddie’s Attic
The Alabama native’s vocals are set to resonate throughout Eddie’s Attic on Friday. She is an original southern voice, and has been steadily gaining fans since her album release at at young 18.

Slamming you back to the roots of blues and folk is Parker Smith and The Bandwidth. Nothing is fake with these guys. No computers. No prerecorded tracks. They are interest only in creating real music with real instruments.
Friday, January 11th-Cloudeater w/ Isness at 529
These electronic rockers have steadily been gaining footing in the Atlanta music scene. Since 2009, the five-piece band has been working its way through Atlanta venues and showing off their unique sound and style. They have rock influences which they also combine with electronic beats. Cloudeater is sure to be a band to look forward to all of 2013.
Saturday, January 12th-The Freddy Jones Band with special guests, The Bitteroots at Eddie’s Attic
If you are looking for a great rock show for the weekend. Look no further. The Freddy Jones Band are an established roots rock, blues rock band from Chicago. Seven albums into their career, the band (which oddly enough does not have a member named Freddy Jones) has toured the nation amazing crowds with their back to basics style.

Choklate’s music will anchor itself down deep into your soul when you see her at Vinyl. She doesn’t just make music that is good to listen to, she makes music that will stay with you for days after you hear her.
