Rising Appalachia @ Egyptian Ballroom (at The Fox Theatre)
Sisters Leah and Chloe grew up in Little 5 Points, right here in Atlanta, GA. They are currently based between Southern Appalachia and New Orleans, but have traveled the world over. All of this diversity is very apparent in the music they create – a mix of world, folk, soul, hip-hop, and some other things we can’t even define. Their unique and beautiful sound is illuminated through poetic and soulful vocals, spoken word, and eclectic array of instrumentation including banjos, fiddles, various drums, kalimbas and beatboxing.
Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door. Doors open at 8pm.
The Left Field Experiment: DJ Nobody w/ 10th Letter & Cosmoore @ 529
Nobody (Elvin Estela), has been a fixture in the Los Angeles music scene since the early 1990s. His productions effortlessly flow from the hip-hop themes of his early career to the psychedelia and rock motifs of his most recent work, and his vast musical vocabulary allows him to deliver with each and every mix.
Tickets are $10. Doors open at 9pm.
Abbey Road LIVE! 45th Anniversary of Abbey Road @ Variety Playhouse
45 years ago, just as the summer of 1969 was coming to a close, the Beatles released their monumental final recording: ABBEY ROAD. Come celebrate this special anniversary as tribute band Abbey Road LIVE! delivers its signature performance: the entire Abbey Road album, start-to-finish. And that’s just a start to the evening: fans will be treated to a second set of Beatles tunes spanning the band’s 8-year, 200 song career.

It becomes obvious that the musician is indebted to the cinema after listening to only a few minutes of his music. For Bützer, the films he has in mind are set in the same locales as his music: French-inspired Eastern Europe. Get in the holiday spirit as he performs Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
