Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, so for the working crew that means we have to celebrate this Friday and Saturday or possibly face an early morning hangover on November 1st! I have a hard enough time waking up and not overdosing on caffeine, so I choose to party this weekend! However, I do have some actual Halloween events for the brave ones or those with a more leisurely schedule! Who am I kidding…You know I’ll end up at a show!
Here’s a list of cool Halloween themed events!
Prom of the Living Dead- Friday, October 26 at Center Stage and Vinyl:
This year, the guys from Most Legendary Halloween Party Ever bring you Prom of the Living Dead, a theme with classic touches from films like Carrie and Night of the Living Dead. DJ Swivel, South City All Stars, Metal Gaga, and Cadaver Dogs will all be playing their awesome party tunes and Live Band Karaoke from Rock Mayhem is going to make for a seriously fun time! Don’t miss the costume contest, tarot card readers, bounce pit, and the first hour of complementary drinks! If your prom sucked like most of ours did then here is your opportunity to take a new stab at it! Pun intended.
Dirt Nap 2012 – Atlanta’s Halloween Bash- Saturday, October 27 at The Basement at Graveyard
The Basement is packing 2 floors of music mayhem! Graveyard Level 1 will host Kastle, Spin Styles, and Ira G, while Level 2, The Basement, will offer up Gentleman Jesse and His Men, Brother Hawk, and DJ Wolf! The event will also feature Burlesques of Death.
Sick/Sea with The Skies Revolt and Native Suns- Wednesday, October 31 at Drunken Unicorn
Sick/Sea is a small town bother/sister Texas band that blends sounds of Indie, Jazz, Rock, and even a breath of Hardcore. The evening of music will include a costume contest and the winner will receive 2 drinks and a copy of Sick/Sea’s new EP, Moral Compass.
Stokeswood’s Halloween Tribute to The Talking Heads with Jungol- Wednesday, October 31 at The Earl
If you’re a Talking Heads fan then you have no business being anywhere EXCEPT The Earl on Halloween! Stokeswood will be performing the entire “Stop Making Sense” album! Gun Party will get the night going and Jungol will be dawning a Mars Volta musical costume! Sounds killer!
