Maintaining ethereal ambiance in a pop-minded effort is a delicate affair. Local act Moodrings does it masterfully. Their sway-worthy, peppier tunes are lush and dreamy. Even the most sluggish, textural songs frontman William Fussell and company offer never fail to serve up a lovely melody, even if subtly embedded. What’s the first gig you ever attended?
Lenny Kravitz and Pink at Hi-Fi Buys Ampitheatre
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?
Most likely it was a round-robin set with our friends Big Colour from Chicago at an impromptu basement show in Indianapolis. We played at 3 or 4 in the morning to a crowded, sweaty and inebriated group of kids. They didn’t even want us to play but asked us to come back after the show.
What is the best gig you have ever seen?
I think it was at Pony Bones house near Fulton Prison. An older band I was in called Phantom Dog and Carp played. Afterwards, my roommate at the time Zeb Millard played in the kitchen inside of a dog cage. I remember Jeremy McLeary from Gods Balls/Hologram played drums with him, making soup on the stove while they played to like 10 or 15 people. The band was called Zeb and the Contortionists.
What is the gig you would most like to play?
Maybe in the basin of the world’s largest satellite that was in the Bond Film, GoldenEye. With Black Sabbath and Cocteau Twins.
