We all know that when you get the Pitchfork seal of approval, it definitely can catapult your music career. Being friends with the boys from Washed Out, also helped this chillwave artist from Columbia, SC. With a massive hipster following, Chaz Bundick joined us as part of our 5GB series before his show tomorrow night at The Masquerade.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
During my sophomore year of high school, I went and saw Weezer in Charlotte during the time of the Green Album. It was pretty incredible.
What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?
After seeing Caribou at The Drake in Toronto, I was instantly hooked. It was just so good, so emotionally and musically pleasing. It put me in a trance.
What is the best gig you’ve ever played/performed at?
It was with my first band, Taxi Tracks. We played in a little barn in Columbia.
What gig would you most like to play? (festival or event or a location or a venue)
I think playing at The Greek in Hollywood would be pretty fun!
What would the line-up be at your dream gig? Who would you play with?
Well, first of all people would come all dressed up in costumes, because that just always makes for a good show. Then I would have to say I would love to share a show with Kayne West and Jimi Hendrix.
Toro Y Moi is playing at The Masquerade 10/14
