NME Magazine named Athen’s based indie rockers, Reptar, one of the most buzzed about bands this year at SWSX. Their latest album Body Faucet was just released ( on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/preorder/body-faucet/id514323158) and frontman Graham Ulicny joined us for our 5GB series before their upcoming shows at The Goat Farm & 40 Watt.
What’s the first gig you ever attended?
Probably a Willie Nelson while i was still in my mom’s uterus.
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?
Playing a sold out show at the Bowery ballroom a couple weeks ago was pretty amazing. It was crazy to look out at the crowd and think that all those people liked our band.
What is the best gig you have ever seen?
This band from Athens called Powers put on an incredible show at Caledonia a couple years ago I think. This band called Pataphysics totally blew my mind at SXSW. Its hard to say though. Live music is an in the moment thing that should not be quantified or rated.
Gig you would most like to play?
Y’all love the word gig, huh? I would love to play a show in the middle of the woods with a generator to a completely naked audience. We would have a campfire and cook veggie dogs and sleep with each other.
What would be the lineup for your dream gig?
Metallica featuring George Clinton, George Clinton featuring Prince, and Prince featuring Metallica and George Clinton.
