So I know what you are thinking…..Ryan Cabrera? Celebrity boyfriend extraordinaire? Well Mr. Cabrera is far from the days of being Ashley Simpson’s main squeeze, and he is physically taking on the part of being a serious musician as well. Ryan (aka every teenager’s heartthrob) joined us for our 5GB series before his show tomorrow night at Smith’s Olde Bar.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
When I was thirteen I went to the R.E.M show and Radiohead was opening. Never heard of em before but after watching them I was blown away..I ended up sneaking backstage and hanging out with all the guys. I didn’t even see one song of REM.
What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I would say seeing Led Zeppelin at the O2 in london was the best gig I ever saw. Watching that makes you rethink your entire show.
What is the best gig you’ve ever played/performed at?
I have a lot of favorites but performing at the Songwriters Hall of Fame was something I’ll never forget. I sang “My Girl” with Smokey Robinson, John Fogerty, Richie Sambora, Chris Tucker and Bill Withers!!
What gig would you most like to play? (festival or event or a location or a venue)
Theres a venue in Colorado called Red Rocks that has always been a dream to play at ever since I bought Dave Matthews record Live at Red Rocks.
What would the line-up be at your dream gig? Who would you play with?
DMB, George Harrison, and Paul Simon.
