Version no. 19 of the Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival will be set amongst the green grass and trees of the former United Methodist Children’s home located at 500 S. Columbia Drive in East Decatur. The move is a welcome one for festival organizers having outgrown the combination lot and park in the Oakhurst Business District at the corner of Oakview and East Lake Drive.
“We had been looking at new sites as early as last spring for the 2019 version and realized that for a better all-around festival goer experience and a solid long term future we needed to substitute the asphalt for green grass and trees” says Michael Vajda Festival Director. “The site at 500 S. Columbia is perfect and should be a much more comfortable experience. We can’t wait to showcase this site and continue to bring our attendees a great lineup of music and delicious BBQ!”
